Flickr Photo Uploader

Flickr Schedulr is a Windows desktop application that automatically uploads pictures to Flickr based on a schedule. It allows you to create a queue of pictures to be uploaded, along with their titles, descriptions, tags, and the photoset into which they should end up.

Multi-Facebook Desktop App

Many Facebook desktop applications have been discussed here. Previously a good Facebook Desktop app was posted but it lacked in some features. Now there is a cool Adobe AIR app available which just does more than that.

Facebook Uploader is basically a multi task oriented tool which allows you to do almost every thing from desktop. It has mainly Home, Profile, Friends, Chat, Upload Menu. The 'Home' menu shows you all feeds, 'Profile' is where you can change, view or edit your own profile settings, 'Friends' shows your friends list, 'Chat' is where you can engage in a conversation with your online friends, and lastly 'Upload' a powerful feature which allows you to add multiple photo's with click and drag. On the right is the Current Stream column and above that are the commonly available features like invitations, inbox, friend requests etc.

Here's how to upload photo's with ease
>Go to 'Upload' Menu
>Choose the Album or Create a New One
>Click Add Photos and Browse the Folder

>To add Bulk amount of photos simply press CTRL and select all the photos to upload (Or simply select all the photos from the folder and drag it on the Facebook Uploader window)
>To add a Caption, Choose any of the photo from left column and click text box next to "Caption"
>You can also Crop, Tag or Rotate Photo's for best view

>When done click Upload images

The Quest; Bomb Moon Water

Recently the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched its first Lunar mission $100m Chandrayaan-1 to find traces of water on Moon. Water was found on Moon by NASA's Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) specifically designed and mounted on Chandrayaan-1. M3 detected Electromagnetic Radiation from minerals located just below the surface of Moon. However it is noticeable the traces found are not like ponds or sea, but in raw solid format composed with other elements.

Some unconfirmed suspicions and studies suggested that there could be ice in craters around Moon's Poles. This water may serve the purpose of drinking water and rocket fuel for future dwellers. It confirms that NASA is planning to set up a SPACE STATION on Moon for easy routing to other planets and Space Exploration.

Now the main question arises why are they bombing the Moon if the traces are already found? It is because NASA wants more confirmed traces. Seems like they are not satisfied with Chandrayaan-1 provided data.

So how is NASA is planning this project?
LCROSS (Lunar Crater Observation an Sensing Satellite) will crash into permanently dark crater at a speed of 9,000 Km/h. First the large empty rocket will hit the lunar surface at more than seven times the speed of sound. The incredible impact is expected to throw up 3.5 lacs kilos of lunar dirt out of the crater causing a 6 mile high, 35 tonne lunar debris cloud. Coming just behind will be the LCROSS satellite which will beam back to the Earth live pictures of the impact and the huge debris cloud. Four minutes later, LCROSS too will strike making another dust storm. Watch NASA animation below

NASA hopes that the lunar debris will confirm the presence of enough water necessary to supply future visits by astronauts.

Firefox plug-in Updater

Mozilla is conducting tests for its plug-in checking page. This site allows to automatically ping Mozilla servers which in response returns list of plugins installed on your pc with their status (vulnerable or safe) and action to perform (Up to Date or needs upgrade).

To check plug-ins installed on your system go to Tools>AddOns>Plugins Tab. In my case not all the plugins were scanned up, like Adobe Acrobat, iTunes Application Detector, Microsoft DRM, Google Picasa, Vivox Voice Plugin, Windows Genuine Advantage among many were left out. This may be because its still in beta testing stages. However its fully functional prototype will be embedded with Firefox 3.6 to be released in coming days.
