Download ultrasn0w 0.92 to Fix Carrier Name & Logo

iPhone Dev Team has come up with a new version of ultrasn0w to fix some bug fixes. Previously users reported no carrier logo and name when Jailbreaking with Pwnage Tool 3.1.4 or later. Now it has been fixed. ultrasn0w 0.92 can unlock only iPhone 3G, 3GS firmware version 3.1.2 baseband 04.26.08.

Follow below how to fix carrier name and logo

1. Open Cydia

2. Go to manage

3. Select source>Edit

4. Add repo http://musclenerd.com

5. Search for 'ultrasn0w' and install it

6. Restart iPhone

For users who have previously unlocked iPhone with previous version of ultrasn0w (0.9), should go to 'Cydia app' on their iPhone and click 'Modify'. To unlock baseband 05.11.07 blackra1n will be the appropriate choice.

Install/Remove Firefox on Ubuntu

Ubuntu Linux OS is free and comes with many free applications. Mozilla Firefox is among many. Since Mozilla Firefox team comes up with their latest browser version every six weeks, so it is must to update to latest version. However there is no auto update option available to install newer version for Ubuntu and requires manual update.

There is an easy way to update using command prompt. First download the new version and save it in the directory Place>Home Folder. Then go to Applications>Accessories>Terminal and paste the following command

if [[ ! -f /usr/bin/firefox ]]; then sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install firefox; fi && if [[ -e ~/.mozilla ]]; then cp -R ~/.mozilla ~/.mozilla.backup; fi && sudo tar -jxvf firefox-3*.tar.bz2 -C /opt && rm firefox-3*.tar.bz2 && sudo mv /opt/firefox/plugins /opt/firefox/plugins.backup && sudo ln -s /usr/lib/xulrunner-addons/plugins /opt/firefox/plugins && sudo dpkg-divert --divert /usr/bin/firefox.ubuntu --rename /usr/bin/firefox && sudo ln -s /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox

Give password if required and restart Firefox.

If you want to Uninstall any version of Firefox then follow command as below

sudo rm /usr/bin/firefox && sudo dpkg-divert --rename --remove /usr/bin/firefox && sudo rm -r /opt/firefox

Download GMail's w.r.t range

After introducing Google Gears for offline availability of Emails, GMail comes with new download options. These download Options allow us to specify a range for emails to download like in days, weeks, months or even years. Select the range and you're ready to download. To access this feature go to Settings>Offline>Download Options.

This option is available only when you have enabled Offline GMail. Check out Google Offline Gears to enable it. This will allow speedier Offline access with rich customization. Since using just Offline Gears don't tell you which mails are being downloaded, However this downloading option will let us to download latest emails or any required range of Emails for offline access.

Is this the New Firefox 3.5.5?

Mozilla Firefox team is yet to announce the official Firefox 3.5.5 but there are some leaked versions available. Just to remind you Firefox 3.5.6 is still due on 15th December.

However this version is NOT official and not yet announced by Firefox Team. Bugzilla shows only four fixes are expected in this latest version 3.5.5 and there are no official notes available yet. Some of the anxious Firefox fans can give it a try.
