BBC Picture Messaging Day Celebration

Mobile Data Association (MDA) in collaboration with BBC Radio 1 has come up with a unique and entertaining task for UK citizens. BBC Radio 1 listeners residing in UK will be able to send FREE MMS on BBC Picture Messaging Day to be celebrated ONLY on Friday 11th December, 2009 between 00:01-23:59. According to Operations Director at MDA, Martin Ballard:

"BBC Radio 1’s Picture Messaging Day should provide a springboard to generate further interest in the medium. Our getsettings website aims to address issues around older handsets in circulation. But the emergence of increasingly sophisticated and affordable devices means users can begin to capitalise on the rich mobile messaging facilities which are now available, as they did with text messaging at the beginning of the decade. Getsettings will provide a single unified hub of settings information for the Picture Messaging Day and into the future".

Some of the pictures will be collected to form an amazing well known piece of video with DJ's. Main focus of this initiative is to produce interactive content and get most out of mobile phones. Henceforth it will encourage more interaction with BBC Radio 1 DJ's.

MDA has brought up O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Vodafone and Virgin Media mobile networks to celebrate this day. All you need to do is send picture message to 81199 for participation using any of the previously mentioned network SIM.

Before sending MMS you need to get settings by any four options detailed below

The picture messages received will be aggregated with technology provided by WIN UK. Be sure to check Terms and Conditions for active participation.
